These two full albums were released 6 months apart. Although they are very different, they are companions...
Black Dog
is an expression of angst at and in the modern world. It feature electric and acoustic instruments plus synths and found sounds. “Black Dog” is a metaphor for depression, often attributed to a 20th century politician but it is recorded in Samuel Johnston’s writing of the late 1700’s and was used by the Roman poet Horace as an ill omen in the 400's BC. The album ends with a piece inspired by an air dedicated to Archibald MacDonald of Keppoch who was a Jacobite, maybe rebellion is the only way..
… having got that off my chest...
Home Again is a collection of softer songs and tunes simply (I hope!) to be enjoyed for what they are. Except for a bit of lap steel and bass all the instruments are acoustic. The title track celebrates escaping some people I had to mix with to earn enough to support our family, aside from that they are just pieces I like to play!
Black Dog is £6, Home Again is £10 P&P - The 2 together are £12.
More CDs - £5 each + P&P (I have no physical copies of Sweeter Life) CD releases: I have a few albums, digital release below or you can buy CDs from me directly - use the contact link to email me. Home Again: £10, the others: £5 each.
